Your contribution helps Sean reach voters across District 4 and bring practical, community-focused leadership to the Desert Recreation District.

Sean Webb is running for Desert Recreation District Board of Directors, District 4, because he believes parks and recreation create healthier, more connected communities. Sean moved to the Coachella Valley from Buffalo, New York, right after college in 2001 and has called the desert home ever since. For more than 25 years, he has lived and worked in the desert, building a career rooted in education, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and service to local families. Today, Sean serves as Director I, Literacy Outreach, for the Riverside County Office of Education and as Executive Director for Read With Me Volunteer Programs. His experience includes teaching, coaching, school leadership, fundraising, and literacy advocacy—work that has shown him how safe, welcoming public spaces strengthen children, families, and neighborhoods.
For more than a decade, Sean has called La Quinta home. He and his family value the everyday opportunities that make this community special, especially the time they spend enjoying parks and recreational spaces throughout the desert with his daughter. From playgrounds and sports fields to open spaces and community facilities, these experiences reinforce his belief that recreation is not an extra; it is an essential public service that brings families and communities together.
Sean will bring a practical, collaborative approach to District 4: listening to residents, respecting taxpayer dollars, and supporting accessible programs, well-maintained facilities, and outdoor spaces where every generation can learn, play, connect, and thrive. He believes District decisions should always reflect community needs, transparency, and long-term stewardship.
Committed to responsible leadership, strong communities, and safe, inclusive recreation—ensuring Desert Recreation District continues to serve everyone.

You were always happy to see Sean was on your crew for the week. Dependable, knowledgeable, and always a good teammate. Sean has brought these qualities to everything he has done in his life. Looking for great things in the future for him.”

“I have known Sean Webb for over 10 years. I was the Culinary Instructor under his CTE Program at La Quinta High. His energy and dedication to our program made it one of the most known culinary programs around. His creative efforts brought us vendors and supporters. Under his direction, many of our students went on to higher education. He is a great mentor. We raised thousands of dollars for the school as well as our charities at the Blackhawk Showdowns while encouraging our supporters and members to be a part of our program. He was always aware of the other needs in our community. His can-do and will-do attitude was always present. Sean is very true to his beliefs and work ethics. His encouragement to do better and be better was felt every day. He has always maintained his friendship and relationships with the people he has worked for. They have the greatest respect for him.”
